Badges

Create reusable, coloured badges (New, Sale…) and assign them to products. The labels beside categories in the menu are edited in the site editor.

Badges are small coloured labels - e.g. "New", "Sale", "Organic". They're managed from the Badges screen and sit on a product's image. The labels next to categories in the menu ("NEW", "-50%") are edited in the Site editor › Store › Menu labels.

This is the last step in building your catalogue - the finishing touch once your products and categories are in place.

What it is

A badge is a reusable entity with its own text, background colour, text colour, and placement (one of four corners). You create it once and assign it to many products - just like categories. A product can carry several badges.

Creating and editing

  • Click New badge and type the text.
  • Pick a background colour and a text colour - the preview shows exactly how the badge will look on the site.
  • Choose a placement: top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right.
  • Save. The badge appears in the list with a colour preview.

Assigning to products

There are two ways to put a badge on a product:

  • From the product - in the product editor, tick the badges you want in the Badges field.
  • From the badge - click Manage products next to a badge, select the products, and save. Handy when you want to tag many products at once.

Ordering

Drag badges to reorder them. The order sets their sequence in the picker and when several badges share the same corner on a product card.

Tips

  • Keep the text short (1–2 words) - badges are small.
  • Pick contrasting background and text colours so they stay readable over photos.
  • Deleting a badge removes it from all products, but does not delete the products themselves.
