Quantity pricing lowers the price per piece when a customer buys more pieces of one product: for example 1–4 pcs at €5.00, 5–10 pcs at €4.00 and 11 pcs and up at €3.50. It applies to every customer - no registration or business account needed. It is the product's price, not a promotion. Promotions and discount codes lower a product with quantity pricing only when their Includes products with quantity pricing switch is on (see "Promotions" below).
Requires the Pro plan
Quantity pricing is available on the Pro plan and above. See Billing to change your plan.
How the price is worked out
- The rows. Each row of the table is a price break - the price per piece from a quantity up. The first row always starts at 1 pc and is the product's own price.
- Pieces add up. Every piece of the product in the cart counts - across all its variants, models and personalised pieces. Example: 3 red + 3 blue + 5 black pairs of socks = 11 pcs, and all 11 sell at the 11-piece price. Different products do not add up.
- Every piece gets the reached row's price. So sometimes more pieces cost less in total: 10 pcs at €4.00 = €40.00, while 11 pcs at €3.50 = €38.50. The editor shows you these quantities in advance.
- The lower price wins. If the product is on sale or in a campaign at a lower price, the customer pays the lower of the two. A variant that is already cheaper than a row keeps its own price.
- Promotions. A promotion, a business client's trade discount or an automated code applies to a product with quantity pricing only when its Includes products with quantity pricing switch is on - it then also cuts every row. The switch is off by default, and the product sells at its table price at any quantity. A row does not count as a discount for Exclude items already on sale. See Promotions.
- Custom print. The personalisation price is added to the quantity price unchanged. Pieces inside bundles do not add up with the product's own pieces.
Setting it up in the product editor
Open the product and its Selling tab. The Quantity pricing card comes after the price cards - after "Pricing & stock" on a simple product, after "Variants" on a product with variants and after "Prices & stock" on a product sold by catalogue.
- Switch on Sell at quantity prices.
- Pick the Row type - "Price per piece" or "Percentage off" (see below).
- Fill in the rows. You type up to how many pieces each row applies - the next row's start fills in by itself. The last row is always "and up": type its end and a new row appears below it. The bin icon deletes a row.
- Click Save.
Price per piece is one price per piece for every variant from that row up. Percentage off is a percentage of each variant's or model's own price, rounded to the cent, so the variants keep the difference between them. Switching the type converts the rows through the product's saved price: at a €5.00 price, a €4.00 row becomes 20%.
The first row is the product's price. On a simple product with "Price per piece" you can change it here too - it is the same value as "Price (EUR)". On a product with variants or sold by catalogue, the first row is each variant's or model's own price.
Each new row must be cheaper than the one before - with "Percentage off", a higher percentage (below 100%). An end below the row's start, or a row without a price, blocks the save until you fix it.
Switching it off keeps the rows
If you switch quantity pricing off, the shop sells the product at its single-unit price at once, but the rows are kept. Switch it back on and they return.
The warnings in the card
The warnings never block the save - they show you what will happen:
- "27–30 pcs cost more than 31 pcs (€105.00 vs €93.00)" - at these quantities the customer pays more in total than for a few more pieces. You can leave it like that.
- "This row is dearer than the single-unit price and does not apply" - for example after you lowered the product's price. The row is kept but does not apply until you give it a lower price. Such a product is flagged in the product list too.
- "The variants have different prices" - with "Price per piece" every variant costs the same from that row up. The Switch to percentage off button keeps the difference between them.
Copying to other products
In the product's card, click Copy to other products… (once your changes are saved). Pick the products and how the prices travel:
- Same prices - the same prices per piece for every product. Right for products at the same price;
- Same percentages - the percentages against the source's price, applied to each product's own price. The products switch to "Percentage off".
The mode is picked for you: if any product has a different price, percentages are suggested, so a dearer product never gets an unintended deep discount. Before copying you see what each product will get - whose table is replaced, which rows would not apply and which product changes type. A product on "Percentage off" that gets "Same prices" switches to "Price per piece", and its variants then cost the same from each row up. Each product's first row stays its own price. The copy is one-time - later changes to the source are not carried over.
You can do the same for many products at once in Products › All products: select them and, in the bulk bar, choose Quantity pricing › Copy from a product…. From there you can also switch quantity pricing off for the selected products - their rows are kept.
In the product list
Products with quantity pricing switched on carry a Quantity pricing tag. The Quantity pricing filter shows all products, only those with it on, or only those with it off. When a row of a product does not apply, a warning shows beside the tag, for example "1 row does not apply".
On product cards
In the site editor, "Store" › "Product cards", the Show quantity prices on the cards setting (on by default) shows the lowest price per piece at a large quantity under a card's price, for example "from €3.00/pc at 31+ pcs". The line shows on category pages, in Products, in search results, in the "Related products" and "Goes well with" strips and in a customer's saved products. The card's button still adds 1 piece. The preview on the right shows the line when its product has quantity prices. When a promotion with its Includes products with quantity pricing switch on applies to the product, the line is after the discount, like the card's price.
On the product page
The product's price stays the single-unit price. Under it, the "Price by quantity" table shows the rows with their price per piece. With percentage rows, the chosen variant's price shows beside the percentage, and before a choice only the percentage. When there are more than 6 rows, the first ones, the row the quantity reaches and a "See all rows" button show. You can change the table's heading in Online store › Translations, like any text in the shop.
The "Quantity" field says how many pieces to add (1 by default) and can be typed straight in. If the quantity is more than is in stock, the field lowers it and says why, for example "Only 7 available". Under the field, the shopper sees how many pieces of the product are already in the cart, what all of them will cost after adding, for example "After adding: 9 × €4.00 = €36.00", and how many pieces are left to the next row. The row the quantity falls into after adding is highlighted in the table. The field sits on every in-stock product's page (see Add to cart in Products), and on a product with quantity pricing it shows even when the shop chose Button only - and only here does it carry the maths and rows beneath it.
On a personalised product the print is added on top: "After adding: 12 × €5.50" and "...pay €5.00/pc with the print". The personalisation summary shows the base price as the quantity price, next to the struck-through single-unit price.
When a promotion with its Includes products with quantity pricing switch on applies to the product (or a business client has a trade discount with that switch on), every row shows its price after the discount next to the row's struck-through price, for example €23.72/pc next to a struck-through €27.90. "After adding" and the next-row hint are after the discount too - exactly what the cart charges. The table shows only the discounts a single piece gets: a "−10% over €100" promotion does not show in a €15 tee's table, even though the cart applies it once the total reaches €100. A business client's trade price appears a moment after the page loads, once they are signed in.
Fast order takes the quantity from the field and prices it as an order of its own - the pieces in the cart do not count. The fast order window shows the maths, for example "25 × €3.50 = €87.50", and the row reached.
In the cart and at checkout
The cart works out the quantity price for all pieces of the product together - across its variants and models - and recalculates it on every quantity change. A line shows the price per piece next to the struck-through single-unit price with a "Quantity price · 11+ pcs" note, and the saving counts in "You save". Under the product's last line a hint says how many pieces are left to the next row, for example "Add 2 more and pay €3.50/pc", or "...and pay less in total" when one more piece lowers the whole total (on a personalised line, the price includes the print). The quantity of any product in the cart can be typed straight in (a bundle changes with "−" and "+") - up to 9,999 per line with quantity prices, up to 100 on any other line. The checkout's order summary shows the same, and the small cart at the top shows, for example, "6 × €3.50". The cart prices by the same rule as the order. With a promotion whose Includes products with quantity pricing switch is on, the line names both the row ("Quantity price · 5+ pcs") and the promotion, and the hint shows the price after the discount - the same as in the product's table.
Export and import
Each product's quantity pricing - on or off, with its rows - travels with the whole-site export (Import & export › Whole site) and comes back when you import it. Importing into a shop whose plan does not include quantity pricing keeps the tables, but the shop sells at the single-unit price until its plan does.
In the product sheet
The product export (Import & export › Products, CSV or Excel) has a Quantity pricing column - the first after the standard columns. It sits on the product row; variant rows stay empty, because the table belongs to the whole product.
- How to write it. The rows from row 2 on, separated by
|:6+: 4,00 | 21+: 3,50for a price per piece, or6+: 20% | 21+: 30%for a percentage off. Row 1 is the Price column, and each row ends where the next one starts. On import a dot, spaces and a "€" sign are accepted too, in any order. - A blank cell switches quantity pricing off for that product - it is how a switched-off table exports. The rows are kept and come back when you switch it on again. It is the only column where a blank cell changes something; a file without the column leaves quantity pricing alone.
- A cell that cannot be read (prices and percentages mixed, a row starting below 2 pcs, a row that is no better than the one above) sends the row to Needs review with the row's number - nothing on that row is written.
- A value on a variant row is not imported - the row gets a warning.
- If your plan stops including quantity pricing, the column disappears from the export and is skipped on import, leaving the tables as they are.
The column is also described on the «Указания» (instructions) sheet of the Excel file.
In purchase orders
A purchase order's projected profit (Products › Inventory) uses the single-unit price. When the order holds a product with quantity pricing, a note under the projection says that sales at quantity prices will lower it.
In orders
Editing an order. When you change the quantity of a quantity-priced line, or add or swap a variant of that product in the order, all of its lines are re-priced by the new total - up and down: 6 pcs at €4.00 raised to 12 by phone become 12 × €3.50, and set back to 6 they are €4.00 again. The order's own table is used: if you have changed the rows since, orders already placed are not affected. A product the order holds without quantity pricing stays without it after the edit; a product you add to the order for the first time gets today's rows. A quantity-priced line can hold up to 9,999 pcs (other lines up to 100).
What the order shows. A quantity-priced line shows the row it was paid on - for example "Quantity price · 11+ pcs" and "€3.50 each · single-unit €5.00". While you edit, these lines are re-priced straight away: the old price is struck through beside the new one, and a note above the items tells you when the product's quantity reaches another row, for example "12 pcs of "Socks" - the new price is €3.50 each". The subtotal shows its new value beside the previous one - for the quantity-priced products only; adding or removing another item, or swapping a variant, shows in the totals when you save. The final totals (promotions, delivery) are also worked out when you save. The order emails to the customer show the same under the item's name - "Quantity price · 11+ pcs · €3.50/pc" - beside the struck single-unit total, and in their account the customer's order history shows the row, the price per piece "instead of" the single-unit price and what they saved ("You save").
If your plan stops including quantity pricing
The tables are kept, but the shop sells at the single-unit price. The card in the editor stays visible, locked, with an Upgrade plan button. Orders placed earlier keep the prices they were paid at.
