Reviews

Moderate customer product reviews (approve/reject verified-purchase ratings) and write testimonials - quotes you publish yourself, with no rating.

The Reviews screen brings together two things: the manual testimonials you add yourself, and the product reviews customers leave after buying. For shops it has three tabs; for sites without a shop it shows only testimonials.

Testimonials

Testimonials are quotes you enter and order yourself - a client's words, a short line, and optionally a photo and role. They appear in the Testimonials section of your website.

Testimonials carry no rating and show no stars. Until August 2026 the cards painted five stars - a rating no customer ever gave. Those stars have been removed. A rating nobody gave counts as a fake review under consumer-protection law (the Omnibus Directive), while a testimonial presented as a quote stays perfectly lawful.

If you want starred cards on your home page, add the Reviews section in the site editor - it shows real reviews with real ratings. See Site editor.

  • Press Add testimonial, enter the quote and name, optionally a role and photo URL.
  • Edit or delete them from the list.
  • Section size (how large the cards are on the site) is set in the site editor, in the view of the home page's "Testimonials" section.
  • On your site the section is a moving marquee: the cards glide by on their own and can be dragged by finger or mouse. A long quote shows truncated - tapping the card opens the full text in a dialog.

Product reviews

Requires the Pro plan

Collecting and showing customer reviews is available on the Pro plan and above; the testimonials above are in every plan. On Solo the moderation tabs are hidden and no review-request email is sent. See Billing.

Product reviews come from your customers. Only a verified purchaser can leave one - a customer with an account whose order (anything other than cancelled) contains the product. Customers write the review from their account, on the order's detail page.

Every new or edited review arrives as pending and is not shown on the site until you approve it.

  • Pending tab - new reviews awaiting approval. The number next to the tab shows how many are waiting.
  • Press Approve to publish a review - it then appears on the product page and counts toward the average rating.
  • Press Reject to hide it.
  • Published tab - your live approved reviews. You can reject (hide) one from here if needed.

Ratings on the product page

When a product has at least one approved review, its page shows the average star rating and review count, with the reviews themselves in an expandable section below the description. The average is also added to the page's structured data (for rich results in Google).

Tips

  • Check the Pending tab regularly - customers only see their review once it's approved.
  • Rejecting only hides the review; it does not notify the customer.
